Wardle & District Bridleways Group

Formed in 1986, this Group is now made up of about 50 members.
As Affiliated Members to the Welfare Organisation of The British Horse Society, our aim is to preserve all existing Rights of Way for horses and ponies, and to work towards the opening up of safe riding routes wherever they may be.

The Legal definition of a Bridleway is:
‘A route over which the public have an enforceable right of way on horseback, and exists wherever that right is proved.’

Over the years, approaches have been made to Local Authorities to increase the number and use of Rights of Way and through our Federation of Pennine Bridleways, a number of National Trails are now successfully being ridden.

We hold regular meetings in the Autumn/Winter/Spring months with varied speakers of interest to our members and organise a variety of riding events, usually during the Summer months.

New Members are always welcome.

Annual Membership Fees are:

Adult                £5
Child                £4
Family              £6
